A delegation of specialists chaired by the Minister of Science and Technology Arch. Yeafesh Osman from People’s Republic of Bangladesh visited Petrozavodskmash, AEM-Technologies, JSC Branch (a member of Atomenergomash, machine engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation, and Karelian Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union).
Anatolii Smirnov, Petrozavodskmash Branch Director, acquainted the guests with the manufacturing site of AEM-Technologies, JSC in Petrozavodsk. During the visit, specialists attended the assembly and welding shop where they witnessed manufacturing of equipment for 2 Units of Rooppur NPP being under construction in People’s Republic of Bangladesh and visited sections of vessel equipment, steam generator collectors and main coolant pipeline production.
“Construction of Rooppur NPP is an impulse for development of the economy in People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Today we’ve managed to see that the equipment for this plant is manufactured in accordance with state-of-the-art procedures. You demonstrate the required perfectionism, and we are confident that all of the contractual obligations will be fulfilled”, noted the Minister of Science and Technology Arch. Yeafesh Osman during the work meeting.
Rooppur NPP is being designed and constructed under the Russian project. Designing and construction of the plant is performed by the Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation. The plant will consist of two power units equipped with two VVER-type reactors which life cycle amounts to 60 years with an option to extend the service life for another 20 years. Power capacity of every unit will be 1200 MW. The company “AEM-Technologies” manufactures basic equipment of the reactor hall for two power units of the plant.
