OJSC "Atomenergomash" and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of thermal energy. The document was signed in the course of the business visit in Changwon (South Korea) of delegation headed by CEO of OJSC "Atomenergomash" Andrey Nikipelov.
Cooperation between the two companies includes design and manufacturing of high capacity boilers for supercritical parameters and ultra supercritical parameters, supply of high capacity steam turbines and generators for supercritical parameters and ultra supercritical parameters, reconstruction, modernization and maintenance of boilers and steam turbine for thermal power plants.
The parties will jointly implement projects in Russia, CIS and other countries. The two companies also discussed the implementation of the projects which are already in the scope of mutual cooperation.
“Atomenergomash is ready to offer a packaged supply of thermal power plant boiler island, which will allow our customers to save time and money securing high safety level. In cooperation with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, we will be able to provide packaged supply of both islands - boiler and turbine, as well as to offer the most advanced boiler and turbine equipment with increased efficiency and energy performance to the market," - said Andrey Nikipelov.
Ultra supercritical generation technology improves efficiency of the power unit by 15% compared to units based on supercritical steam pressure, and reduces by 15% specific fuel consumption. This technology is currently not applicable in Russia. The development of 660-900 MW ultra supercritical coal-fired power units is provided by "General Scheme of the power facilities of Russia until 2030."
